Annual Conference and Exhibition 2018 update....

The PFA team held its 1st conference and exhibition on 1 February 2018 at Manchester United Football Ground, Old Trafford providing a platform for information sharing, discussion and debate around all things procurement, attended by delegates from across the region.

The event provided an informative overview of the latest issues surrounding public sector procurement, focusing on compliance, fire risk management and collaborative working. Delegates were encouraged to participate throughout the day with lively discussions taking place around compliance, procurement law and finance.

Keith Armstrong, MD at Procurement For All commented about the day, “it was exciting for the team to hold our first ever annual conference and exhibition at United and it was good to see so many of our members at the event, all ready, willing and eager to talk about procurement and compliance. We made sure we had engaging speakers lined up to provide insight and talk about live experiences.

Alongside the conference, exhibitors from our key supply chain and valued contractors showcased products and their latest technologies to delegates, providing a great opportunity for networking with like-minded key people.

The PFA team chose thought provoking and inspiring speakers who could offer engaging anecdotes and talk about influential case studies, these included:

  • - Keith Armstrong, MD at PFA talking about PFA member structure and the positive impact PFA provides on VFM
  • - Gordon Perry, Board member at Ark Consultancy, advising us all to work smarter and not harder.
  • - Yvonne McDermott, Executive Director of Development at Mosscare St Vincent’s Housing, making sure we are ready to supply the demand
  • - Chris Green from Weightmans LLP spoke passionately about managing risks with fire health & safety
  • - Martin Vincent from Weightmans LLP, asking us whether we are compliant ready
  • - Ian Thompson, Executive Director of Homes and Services, JJHT talking about procurement matters in Grounds Maintenance

The conference closed with a complimentary tour around United stadium, which proved a magnificent end to a thought provoking and topical day.
